FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY IN RHODE ISLAND, various groups and organizations are coming together as ONE to celebrate the beautiful French language and cultures. The organizations include the Alliance Française de Providence, the Museum of Work and Culture, the Rhode Island chapter of the American Association of Teachers of French, the African Alliance of Rhode Island, La Providence, Le Foyer and the Club Richelieu International. Great Institutions are also participating including Bryant University, The French-American School of Rhode Island, Brown University and Salve Regina University.

Raising of the Francophonie Flag

The week of events will kick off with THE RAISING OF THE FRANCOPHONIE FLAG at the State House on March 19th at 2pm. -event open to the public- State Officials, including Governor Carcieri, Consulate Delegates and representatives from various countries will attend this great event. 

Representatives Needed

Representatives,  delegates or natives from French-speaking countries are encouraged to take part in the opening ceremony. Please confirm by email so we can include you in featured guest list.

Francophone Flags

We need Flags for every community/country represented . If you have one, we would like to borrow it for the duration of the event.

Volunteers Needed

We need Volunteers for the organization of the Opening Ceremony and the Franco Fête . For more information about how you can participate in this great series of events, please contact us through the contact us form.
